TATAMI-mat Making Workshop

1. Tatami Making Workshop Would you like to learn the traditional Japanese art of tatami making from our local craftsmen on Yakushima Island? In this workshop, you’ll have the chance to learn the techniques of professional tatami artisans. Tatami making is a craftsmanship, and this is a luxurious experience where you’ll craft your very own tatami with guidance from our experts.

Experience crafting a 1/4-jo (approximately 0.413 square meters) tatami All materials and tools will be provided Guidance from experts Starting from how to use the tools to how to maintain tatami-mat. Through the process of tatami making, you will experience Japanese artisan culture and intricate craftsmanship, and you’ll be able to take your handmade tatami home with you!

 1/4-jyo size tatami-mat is enough size  you can bring back to your house by airplane and enjoy  aroma,touch and beautiful space of tatami-mat.until mat.

Tea Ceremony Experience

2. Tea Ceremony Experience Workshop Tea ceremony is a wonderful way to delve into the depth of Japanese culture. Learn the joy of  matcha and tea ceremony, two kinds of Macha and traditional Japanese sweets with a tea ceremony instructor. Immerse yourself in the elegant world of tea ceremony, find inner calm, and relax.

  Tea Ceremony Experience (per person) 1 person: 5,000 yen,2 persons: 8,000 yen, 3 persons:10000 yen.

 include Japanese traditional tea sweets and tMaccha Tea inside Tea hut Tatami room 90-120minutes.

During the tea ceremony experience, you’ll learn traditional rituals and savor a luxurious moment with matcha and Japanese sweets.
